Hyo-Joo Kim finishes T2 after strong showing at The Evian Championships

Date
29 July 2019

Hyo-Joo Kim had to settle for T2 after a fiercely competitive Evian Championship went right to the wire in France. Kim, the record breaking champion of the tournament back in 2014, was at the right end of the leaderboard from the first tee, shooting a first-round 69 to be right in contention after the first day.

It was on the second day in which she excelled, shooting 64 which turned out to be her best round of the tournament. It took her to second in the leaderboard, and she moved up a position on moving day with a six-under-par 65 to sit on 15 under.

On the final day, she sunk birdies on the eighth and 11th, wiping out a bogey on the third, to help her stay at the top of the leaderboard before unfortunately facing problems when her ball was plugged in a greenside bunker on the challenging 14th hole.

Hyo-Joo will now head to The AIG Women's British Open at Woburn Golf Club before taking on the Aberdeen Investments Ladies Scottish Open from 8th - 11th August.
